This rice wine is used as a key ingredient in Red Rice Wine Chicken Soup (红糟鸡汤) or as a health tonic, as it is known for its cholesterol-lowering properties according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, and is also rich in probiotics.
If used for postpartum care, most confinement nannies recommend this as well as the ginger rice wine.
